1967-1970: B.A. in English language and literature, Bristol University, England.
(Date of receiving degree: 1970).

1970-1971: additional studies in Judaic Studies, required by Library Science Department of the Hebrew University.

1971-1972: Postgraduate diploma in Library Science, Hebrew University of Jerusalem

1972-1973: Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS), Hebrew University of Jerusalem
(the university was granted the right to give this degree only in 1972).

1986 - 1995: Member of inter-University committee of “Aleph” system managers

1992 Chairperson of ad-hoc inter-University committee (libraries and
computer centers) to investigate options of networking databases
within ILAN – the inter-university network

1996 - today: planning and teaching curricula and continuing-education courses for
teachers and librarians for:
-- the Israel Center for Libraries;
-- the Mofet Institute (of the Ministry of Education: courses for college
lecturers)
-- the Teaching Improvement Authority of Oranim College.

1997 - 2000: planning and teaching courses on information retrieval and on content-rich
website design for non-profit organizations: for government managers and
university staff in developing (mainly African) countries: for Unesco via the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mashav Institute).

2000 - today: Academic advisor for the Ministry of Labor’s courses in Information Retrieval
(professional retraining courses).

2002 - 2003 Academic advisor for the Information Retrieval sections of the training courses
for workers in community Internet centers to be set up by the Lehava project.

2005 Member of the AIIP ad hoc Committee to award the annual Technology prize
for the technological advance of most benefit to information professionals.

2005-6 Organized the Semel/Asmi Conference, Haifa, January 2006.
